A police officer got more than what he wanted as he fell off a speeding vehicle while trying to control angry residents.
An overzealous police officer got more than he bargained for as he dangerously fell from a moving vehicle during demonstrations in Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu County of Kenya on Tuesday.
According to The Kenyans, the anti-riot officer was hanging from the rear of a fast-moving police vehicle while trying to control angry residents who were demonstrating over summons issued to area Governor Jackson Mandago.
In the video, the riot officer holding a riot shield on one hand while holding onto the speeding vehicle with the other hand fell after losing grip. It is likely he got seriously injured during the incident.
Anti-riot officers had been deployed in the town to quell chaos which emerged following reports that Mr Mandago and his Elgeyo Marakwet counterpart Alex Tolgos were being questioned at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) headquarters in Nairobi.
Area residents defended their county boss supporting his strong stand against appointment of Professor Laban Ayiro as acting Vice Chancellor of Moi University.
