A statement on US President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to ban all Muslims from entering the United States ‘mysteriously’ disappeared from his campaign website less than 24 hours after the Republican was elected president.
The statement, which was made in December 2015 – calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims – vanished from the website on Wednesday, after the Republican presidential nominee beat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the battle for the White House.
The statement, however, was restored on Thursday afternoon, according to The Washington Post.
Trump stunned the world on Wednesday by defeating heavily favored Clinton in Tuesday’s presidential election, sending the United States on a new, uncertain path.
He won with 279 electoral votes.
