No less than a day after a former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, made clear his view in the Halliburton scandal, the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, said that “Atiku is being haunted by the demons of corruption.”
El-Rufai, while dragging Atiku into the scandal that consumed American congressman, William Jefferson, who bagged a jail term in the United States of America, dared him to step his foot on the soil of the American country.
In a statement issued by him with the title, “Atiku haunted by his corrupt demons,” El-Rufai accused the ex vice-president of wiring $40m to the US – challenging him to clean up his corruption credentials.
The Kaduna state governor also slammed Atiku for spewing out lies and innuendos in an attempt to rejuvenate his image – in the wake of his vaunting ambition to become the President of Nigeria.
In an interview Atiku granted to a quarterly magazine published by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Zero Tolerance, the former vice-president accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of scheming to make himself life president.
