Omokri responds, “When Tinubu does well, we hail him,” as the UAE lifts its restriction on Nigerian visas.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Reno Omokri, has lauded President Bola Tinubu for securing the immediate lifting of the visa ban earlier placed on Nigerian travelers.
GISTS VILLA had reported that Tinubu and the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met Monday, where they agreed to resolve the visa crisis.
A statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, noted that by this historic agreement, both Etihad Airlines and Emirates Airlines are to immediately resume flight schedules into and out of Nigeria without any further delay.
Reacting, Reno, a former presidential spokesperson, commended the president, saying “If President Tinubu does well, we will praise him, and if he derails, we will torment him”.
In a post on his Facebook page, Reno urged President Tinubu to also work towards resolving the visa ban placed on Nigerians by the Ethiopian and Seychelles authorities.
He wrote, “It is very commendable that President Tinubu has been able to get the visa ban the UAE placed on Nigeria’s passport lifted. This is the type of leadership that Waziri Atiku Abubakar would also have brought to Nigeria, which has been missing for the last eight years.
“Now that he has accomplished this, I urge the President to send his foreign minister to Ethiopia and the Seychelles to secure the lifting of their own visa bans on the Nigerian passport.
“Once again, I commend the President and also salute the astute trade deals he was able to strike for Nigeria in both India and the UAE. Trade means jobs. And Nigerians need jobs. So much kudos is due to the president.”
