Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru has been named the second best African player in Europe behind Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre Emerick Aubamenyang.
According to a poll conducted by France Radio, Onyekuru has been rated as one of the best African players in Europe with mere six points behind Gabon international, Aubamenyang who won the poll with 32 votes.
The 19-year-old was an impressive figure at Belgian side, Eupen scoring 24 goals across all competition to be named the highest goal scorer in Belgium top flight.
However, Onyekuru was unused in the Nigeria 2-0 loss to South Africa last Saturday but will expected to make his competitive debut in the double header against Cameroun in the 2018 Russia World Cup qualifiers.
His goal scoring displays for Eupen have attracted interest from several clubs in the Premier League with the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur all believed to be considering a move for him.
West Ham United are understood to be the front-runners in the potential deal and are ready to trigger his £7million release clause. Arsenal were said to have approached Eupen about the possibility of signing the forward this summer but are set to lose to their London rivals if recent reports are anything to go by.
