Libya have taken the early lead in Group E of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.
The North Africans crushed Seychelles 5-1 at the Tripoli Stadium, to begin their campaign on a solid note.
Anis Saltou, Ahmad Benali, Hamdou El Houni, Mohammed Zubya and Muaid Ellafi all scored for the Mediterranean Knights, while Coralie got a goal for the visitors in the 90th minute.
With this win, Javier Clemente’s men lead the group with three points and superior goals difference, ahead of the Nigeria vs South Africa clash in Uyo on Saturday.
Libya have failed to qualify for the last three editions of AFCON, with their last participation coming at Equatorial Guinea and Gabon 2012.
Their next qualifying fixture will be away to South Africa on May 27, 2018. Seychelles welcome Nigeria to Stade Linité.
