Shortly after the unveiling of Lyta and Limerick as the new YBNL acts, wide opinion is these kids might be the new chinko ekun and Xino meaning that they might not blow!
Fact was these artistes were relatively too young and had not had a feel or taste of how the industry is before they were signed.
That’s the problem with Temmie Ovwasa. She doesn’t have an experience of how the industry works. That’s one factor militating against her career.
She hasn’t perfected her sound yet. However, these new kids will most obviously surprise critics with their craft.
Limerick is an hardcore rapper that drops punchlines frequently. He’s like a younger version of M.I. Going through his Instagram page, one would see this kid is talented.
Freestyles are always hot! Dropping bars here and there and as was evident in his song, Pesin, he’s a talented kid that plays around words turning them into his own warfare tools.
He has a version of Vector in him due to how he arranged his lyrics. In one word, Limerick is Multi-talented! If you are still doubting Limerick, download Pesin and listen to it. Bars 100!!!
Lyta on the other hand still has time to mature. He’s only 15 and he’s got a feature with the baddest rapper in Nigeria, Olamide.
His single, Time is already making a lot of waves on the street and he’s definitely one act to look out for with a lot of talent and promise. Lyta is definitely going to light up the industry.
The new YBNL kids are awesome.Their singles are already getting downloads and airplay on radio.
Many celebrities are already giving them shout-outs on social media showing love and support fo their singles.
Their singles were in the Top 10 singles in the iTunes World Charts showing how people are already feeling their singles.
The YBNL boys are off to a great start already. There’s no pressure on them as they have shown how talented they are. These ones will obviously not end up as Viktoh or Xino after two years.
But how they seek to remain relevant and trending in an already filled up industry is a question for another day.
But do you see these kids usurping the Big Boys at the top?
Give your say!
